Tarantino Film Festival Thumbnails

For these posters I really want to explore the use of different textures and patterns as well as creating the art for the pieces with charcoal on textured paper. I also want to add a distressed/ grunge look to the posters.

  1. Hi friend! lol the first set of thumbnails that capture my attention is your second set... i love the simplistic way of showing each character in the movie... I think your type is competing with your art though... you can have your icons a little bit bigger and then have your type simple and clean maybe.. other than that nice concept.

  2. I think the first series will work out best.
2nd one is a good idea but there might be more iconic elements to play with.

I see you aren't set on which movies for the 1st and 2nd set.. when I saw the sword I would think Kill Bill not Pulp right away.

I'm sure it will come out great regardless

  3. I definitely think set number 2 works the best here. It's very minimal but it illustrates the characters well. I think I can tell what each movie is without the big bold titles underneath. You could just put the film festival in bold type and make the movie title more subtle and it would work.

I think you got a mistake on here, on the first set you have death proof on there but the movie with the girl with the gun leg is called planet terror.

Also I think the art on the 3rd set works well too but I would just go with the second set, I think it's a little more fun.

  4. I like the over all minimalist look. Though it does make these posters look a little too similar to the ones seen all over the internet. Great imagery from each movie. I like the 1st 2 sets the best. Maybe a little more emphasis on the festival rather than the title of the movie.
